Born 1955 in Kriens, citizen of Oensingen/SO. Author, director, producer and vint- ner. Lives in Zürich and Ligerz/BE.
After attending school in Oensingen, Jegenstorf and at the Gymnasium Immensee, Werner Schweizer studied sociology, public relations and European folk literature at the University of Zurich. He has been involved with video and film since 1973. He is a cofounder of Video-Zentrum and the Videoladen cooperative, Zurich («Züri brännt») and of the film production company Dschoint Ventschr AG as of 1994, together with Samir and Karin Koch.
From 1983 to 1989 he worked as an author and freelance journalist. Bet- ween 1987-89 he completed his first documentary film for the cinema. Since then he has worked as the author and director of documentary films for cinema and televisi- on. W
