Thomas Kaske studied Anthropology and Film Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2008 he worked for the MA Visual and Media Anthropology. He started to produce and shoot some short Documentaries in Vienna and Berlin. He also worked for several Berlin film festivals, like Afrikamera and Asian Hot Shots. In 2013 he began to study Media Art and Media Design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. During his M.F.A. he directed and produced several experimental shorts, one of them Document: Hoyerswerda / Frontex was shown on many international festivals. In 2014 he worded as a production assistant and archive researcher for Ilanga Films and successfully organized a crowd funding for the film Comrade Where Are You Today. In 2015 he joined the production company Molly Aida Film as a Junior Producer. With the Algerian documentary project Janitou, he was nominated for the Robert Bosch Film Prize.
