Saša Dlouhý (1971) is a gallerist in the 90’ who subsequently made undersea films for international production houses. Since 2006 he has followed his independent films Azores Under Water and Valdez: Whale Paradise with a focus on social documentaries.
In 2007 he founded the production company freeSaM, focusing on the production of documentary films.
In 2012 he was nominated for a Czech Lion Award and the Pavel Koutecky Award, and awarded the Trilobit, for his film Trafacka – Temple of Freedom (directed with Roman Vavra). In 2014 he was nominated for the Pavel Koutecky Award for his documentary about the performer Halka Třešňáková, liebe Indigo, which went on to win the Czech Film and Television Trilobit Award in 2015.
He works with editor Jakub Voves in the post-production studio Khapka.
