Roman Blazhan is a director of many short films and co-producer at Minimal Movie. Born in Donetsk (Eastern Ukraine) he first pursued a career in energy trading and finance. After the Russo-Ukrainian war started in 2014, he lost his home, became disillusioned with his career and decided to start from scratch, finding passion in film. Since 2015 he directed and produced more than 20 short films. 3 of them were aired on Ukrainian public television.
The documentary short, Enter Through the Balcony, he directed and produced, was selected for 15 festivals and won three main awards in Sweden, Australia and Poland. It was sold to the public broadcasters and streaming services in Ukraine, Poland, Norway, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Canada. Since March 2022, Roman is temporarily based in Germany.
