Born in 1982, Luka Venturin obtained a BA in economics and went on to study film production at The Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. Since 2004 he has worked in production with numerous production companies, dealing with film, TV and commercials. Since 2010 he has been working in Sekvenca, based in Zagreb, on the production of documentary and fiction films and TV projects. His biggest success came in 2015, when he produced the short film Picnic, which premiered in Berlinale Generation and went on to win dozens of festivals across the world, culminating with the European Film Award for Best European short in 2015. An alumnus of Sarajevo Talent Campus, Sarajevo City of Film, MAIA Workshop, Berlinale Talents and many others.
