Kristine Nrecaj M.A. studied film scholarship and dramatics at the FU in Berlin in 2004. As an independent filmmaker she made a documentary named „Kosowo“, image movies and a movie review for Polylux. In 2006 her documentary “When Red Poppies Wither – A Journey Through Albanian Film” was nominated by the Robert Bosch Stiftung. In 2011 she finished script school at the Wolfgang Pfeiffer Drehbuchschule in Berlin. Her script “Zemra ime – mein Herz“ was selected for the workshop “Debüt im Ersten“ during the Max Ophüls Film Festival. Her first short film, “Of Dogs and Lions“ which she wrote and directed, was produced in 2013. Kristine has Albanian roots. Her parents emigrated forty years ago from Kosovo to Germany. The subjects she is involved in have mostly to do with Albanians in relation to Germany.
