Born in Osaka (Japan), 1987. After graduating from Kansai Gaidai Junior College, ODA started filmmaking at Hollins University (US), where she completed the film course in 2011. Her first short film “Thus A Noise Speaks” was presented at festivals such as Tokyo International LGBT Film festival, IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival, and Nara International Film Festival where it received the Audience Award. She lived in Sarajevo for three years from 2013 and completed the Doctor of Liberal Arts in filmmaking under the supervision of Bela Tarr in 2016. Her first feature, ARAGANE, had its World Premiere at YAMAGATA International Film Festival 2015 and received Special Mention. The film has been screened at festivals such as Doclisboa, Mar del Plata IFF, Sarajevo FF, Taiwan International DFF.
