Born in Mexico City in 1986, Joaquín del Paso made his first short film at age 16, the same year he worked in his first professional film set and sold his first script to a production house. He was enroled in Music Conservatory but decided to change to filmmaking. In 2007 he studied directing and scriptwriting courses in the international film school in Cuba (EICTV), moved to berlin and became camera assistant for a film production house.

Joaquín currently studies cinematography in the Polish National Film School. His works have been presented in Camerimage Festival, Torino Film festival, Marseille documentary film festival, Gdynia Film festival, Cochabamba Film Festiva and Amsterdam Film Festival. He has shot and directed many short films and made two feature length films as a cinematographer (The inspection house, UK 2012 and Hel, Poland 2013) ¨Dream of San Juan¨is his first long documentary.
