Jürgen Karasek was born 1982 in Kulmbach, Germany. He has a master in theatre-, film- and media science and is working in Vienna as a scriptwriter, dicrector and producer.

As a producer Jürgen is Co-founder and co-owner of Soleil Film GmbH in Vienna. Since the start of the company he has produced and co-developed several documentaries and short films. In the last years he was also attending many workshops and pitches like, Sources2, Berlinale Talent Campus, Maia Workshops, Zagreb Dox Pitch, Baltic Forum, Dok-Leipzig Coproduction Meeting, Easat European Forum Prague, Dokfest Munich Marketplace, Medimed Sitges or Co-Pro Tel Aviv.
