Erica Barbiani – author/producer

Previous productions by Erica Barbiani include The Special Need, premiered in Locarno and screened at IDFA 2013 in the Best of Fest section. Since 2013, the documentary has been selected by more than sixty festivals.

Parallel to the activity of creative producer in Videomante, Erica is also an author of documentaries and she published two fiction novels. Luciana de Leoni, the main protagonist of Wishing on a Star, and Erica Barbiani, author of the story, have been knowing each other since 1998 and live ten kilometers away. Luciana is close to Erica’s extended family, as many of her aunts and cousins have been taking birthday-trips in the past. Access to the astrologist and her entourage is therefore sustained by a long time relationship.
