Cecilie has produced documentaries and animated short films since 1997. Recent titles are «Blind Dancer», «In a few years, everything will be different» and «Blame it on the Seagull». She has also co-produced the feature documentary «Monalisa Story» nominated for the Guldbagge in Sweden in 2017.

She has also directed the documentaries «Heart of Gold», «The Art of Being an Artist» and «In the Heart of the promised land». «Heart of Gold» won the Gullruten Award for best original music in 2018, as well as the Merit Award of Awareness at the Awareness Film Festival Los Angeles 2018.

Cecilie has studied documentary film and journalism at Volda College of Journalism, as well as social anthropology, media science and literary science at the University of Oslo.
