Barbara graduated in Film Theory and Criticism from the Academy of Performing Arts, Bratislava Slovakia. In the following years she focused on film journalism, screenwriting and PR. She is a co-founder of CHARACTER – Film Development Association, which co-organises international training projects aimed at the issues of film industry. In 2012 she founded the production company HITCHHIKER Cinema, where she develops and produces films with focus on female filmmakers and social topics. In 2018 she won the award for the best documentary feature Diera v hlave (A Hole in the Head, 2017) at the Slovak national film awards Slnko v sieti. She is a member of the Slovak Film and Television Academy and she is one of Emerging Producers 2018 within the Jihlava IFDF.
